Massachusetts Science and Technology/Engineering Curriculum Framework

The 2006 updated Framework includes the following key changes:

• Revised high school standards approved by the Board of Education in January 2006

• Clear learning expectations for each course

• Scientific Inquiry Skills standards & mathematical skills necessary

• Vignettes to illustrate standards-based classroom lessons

• Elimination of the two-year integrated science course in grades 9 and 10

• Minor edits for content accuracy to four Pre K–8 standards

• Guiding Principle discussing the importance of literacy skills in learning content

• Alternative Dissection Policy and related resources

• Edits of the Framework text to assure coherence and flow throughout the document I believe a strong understanding of science and technology/engineering is important for every
